Your privacy — plain and simple.
We collect what you tell us in the athlete questionnaire (including your name, email, and mobile number when you provide them) and the training data you share (like Strava activities) for one purpose: coaching you well. We don't sell your personal information or rent it to advertisers.
Your coach can see the information they need to coach you—for example questionnaire answers about your goals and training, your training plan and workout feedback, messages in the coaching conversation, and training data you connect (such as Strava).
Your phone number stays private from coaches. Your mobile number is collected so The Marathons can deliver coaching SMS to you and receive your text replies. Coaches message you through our web application; they do not see your phone number, and we do not reveal it to them in the coach product. Message content is shown to your coach in the app without exposing your number.
SMS is optional. You can message your coach in The Marathons web app without opting in to texts. If you choose to opt in to coaching texts during onboarding (via a separate, unchecked checkbox that is not required to create an account or purchase) or on our public SMS opt-in page, we use your mobile number to:
We use a messaging service provider (currently Twilio) to send and receive texts. They process phone numbers and message content on our behalf solely to deliver those messages. We do not sell, rent, or share mobile phone numbers with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes.
Message frequency varies with your coaching relationship (you may receive up to several messages per week). Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to unsubscribe / cancel coaching texts, or HELP for help. You can also email hello@themarathons.com.
Payments are processed by Stripe — your card number never touches our servers.
